Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Spotlight
Grab your popcorn and set your DVRs! On Monday night, February 15th, at 10pm ET, the National Geographic Channel will be airing “The New Air Force One: Flying Fortress.”
The documentary will highlight two high-visibility programs managed by our teammates in the Presidential and Executive Airlift Directorate. A portion of the show focuses on operations of the VC-25A, the current Air Force One, managed by the Commercial Derivative Aircraft Division (CDAD) at Tinker AFB. Among their broad portfolio, which includes the E-4B, C-12, C-21, C-32, C-37, and C-40, CDAD is also been responsible for modernizing and sustaining the “No-Fail” mission of the VC-25A to provide White House level security and communications to the President of the United States as he travels domestically and worldwide.
The remainder of the documentary focuses on the ongoing build of the VC-25B, the next Air Force One, managed by the VC-25B division at Wright Patterson AFB. VC-25B successfully completed several significant milestones this past year to include Critical Design Review and the start of modification of the two 747-8i aircraft that will proudly represent our great nation for the next 30 years.
The documentary will air again on Sunday, February 20th, and also be available via Video-On-Demand and the Nat Geo App starting Feb 16th. It will also be available at a later date on Disney+
